Barcelona Architecture Week 2019 begins from 9 to 19 May
During these days, Barcelona will become the epicenter of a wide range of activities related to the world of architecture and the city. In the centenary of the foundation of the Bauhaus School of Design and Architecture, this year's edition will emphasize the legacy of the avant-garde architecture.
The Fundació Mies van der Rohe proposes a series of activities: As a prelude to the Architecture Week on May 7 we celebrate the EU Mies Award Day, the award ceremony, and the inauguration of "What's old, What's new" Exhibition EUMies Award 2019 that as from 9 May will be extended to the districts with the exhibition on the street 'Do not miss it!' that shows the works of the city that are part of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award 2019, together with other highlighted works.
Join us at the presentation of the project Artists in Architecture with the debate Heritage at risk: Single-family housing of the Modern Movement in Europe, come to the Pavilion to enjoy the Concert Drei Stücke with students of the ESMUC, a reinterpretation of the Triadic Ballet by Theater der Klänge, or a choreography of the students of the Institut del Teatre for the Night of the Museums. Visit the Tiny (BAU) HAUS which will be installed in front of Pavilion and the exhibition 'The work of Zaha Hadid in the EU Mies Award' at the Hotel Alma.
Join the guided tours and activities that the Fundació has organized at the Architecture Week: Ciutat Universitària, Casa Vilaró, Pavelló de la República, Canteen and labs of SEAT factory and the Antituberculous Dispensary.
In addition, also in the Pavilion, dpr-barcelona proposes Parasitic Reading Room, SCALAE invites Emilio Tuñón, 48H Open House brings Música x Arquitectura and the IMPU presents the book 'Barcelona Racionalista'.
And we remind you that, during the Architecture Week, there will be discounts and draw books at the Barcelona Architecture Bookstores.
