WAF 2016, ezúttal Berlinben

WAF 2016 will be taking place at the Arena Berlin

WAF 2016 will be taking place in a venue that typifies the post-industrial identity synonymous with the city known as much for its reinvention of the old as it is with the creation of contemporary architecture. Learn more about the Arena's history and the architect who designed it by downloading the press release.

"After four happy years in Singapore we are delighted to be moving to Berlin for 2016. This is a city with an extraordinary history, and one which has been a breeding ground for architectural ideas, historical and contemporary. We look forward to staging our first Festival in Europe since 2011, and to welcoming architects from across the world to our ninth edition."
Paul Finch, WAF Programme Director

During the Festival the Arena will be the backdrop for three days off industry shaping live crits, seminars, keynote talks, charrettes and exhibits. Key figures in the Berlin architecture community will be heading up the festival's line-up of speakers and judges including Louisa Hutton, David Chipperfield and Frédéric Migayrou.

Outside of the core programme WAF's expanded fringe will open up Berlin's diverse architectural and cultural scene with visits to the destinations you won't find in your standard guide book.

It all starts with an entry. Submit your work in to this year's WAF Awards to ensure your practice gains international exposure at the Festival in Berlin.
