On the eve of the UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects, which led to Barcelona being designated World Capital of Architecture in 2026 by UNESCO and the UIA, the city is rolling out an intense programme of architecture-related activities. We highlight the travelling exhibition From Blind Walls to Façades. A Legacy for the City, which is moving from the former Mental Institute of the Holy Cross in the Nou Barris district to the Casa de les Altures in the Horta-Guinardó district, which is the featured district in this June’s programme.
At the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion we invite you to experience the space in a participatory way through the workshops Paper Architectures and Look, Frame, Click.
At the Palau Victòria Eugènia we recommend the guided tours of the exhibition What is this? A spa, a gym, a zoo for tiny animals? Exhibiting the collection of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation (Guided tours in Catalan: 13 and 27 June at 12:00; 16 and 26 June at 18:00. Spanish: 13 June at 11:00. A City to Live In, which are presented alongside Modern Domestic Landscapes. Crossed Paths of Women between Latin America and Europe, as well as various workshops.
