We are getting ready for a September in which Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture will have a strong presence throughout the city. The programme will continue to unfold across all ten districts through exhibitions, tours, workshops, debates and activities open to everyone, making architecture a tool for discovering, understanding and rethinking Barcelona.
At the Pavilion, September begins with an open day on the first Sunday of the month. On 7 September, Neus Ballús’s Sis dies corrents will be screened on the travertine wall as part of the Barcelona series of Pantalla Pavelló. On 14 September there will be a piano concert; on 20 September, the family workshop Mira, enquadra, clica!; and on 24 September, to mark La Mercè, another open day.
The sessions of Critical Perspectives on Contemporary Architecture: The Legacies of Ignasi de Solà-Morales invite us to explore his thinking in greater depth on 17 and 30 September, at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion and the Barcelona Architecture House, respectively. The Barcelona Architecture House invites visitors to explore the city’s present and future through Barcelona = (Diversity + Intensity) × Complexity, Barcelona 2035: A City to Live In and the Barcelona Plan 2026–2035 Model.
The Dipòsit del Rei Martí, in Sarrià–Sant Gervasi, will be September’s district venue and will host the exhibition From Blind Walls to Façades: A Legacy for the City, presenting the projects that will create new urban façades in each district as part of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture.
