The fifth edition of BARQ is here, the festival dedicated to exploring the connections between the seventh art and architecture, and the only competitive international film festival devoted to architecture and design in Spain.
The Fundació Mies van der Rohe has collaborated with BARQ Festival since its first edition in 2021 and invites you to enjoy a programme that, in addition to an extensive selection of previously unseen films, features talks, debates, workshops and conferences.
This edition aims to offer audiences new critical perspectives that encourage them to inhabit differently, fostering dialogue between the two artistic disciplines and sparking debate on urban, social, environmental and housing-related issues.
The opening event will take place at Cinemes Girona, the festival's main venue, on 3 November at 6.30 pm, with an introduction and a screening of the feature film La Ricarda.

This activity is part of the programme of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture, a distinction awarded by UNESCO and the International Union of Architects (UIA) to the city hosting the UIA World Congress of Architects, turning it into a global forum for architecture, urban planning and landscape design. From 12 February to 13 December, a multidisciplinary programme will take place in collaboration with schools, universities, and professional and cultural organisations from across Catalonia. Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture is supported by Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda.
